Yesterday in Sydney, India leveled the three-match T20I series of India’s Tour of Australia by defeating the host. The four-match tests will begin on December 6. The first test is scheduled at the Adelaide Oval.
Though Indian National Cricket Team level the series but some deficiencies have been observed in the batting department. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted, “Rahul and Pant’s inconsistency with the bat inducing India (perhaps) to play Krunal Pandya – A bowler who bats. India would be a stronger team if Chahal plays & so does Krunal in place of a batsman. What do you guys think?#INDvAUS”.
Sanjay Manjrekar has hit out Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul for their performance in the T20I series. He also suggested that India should play Yuzvendra Chahal in place of a batsman to make the team stronger. He suggested that India is playing an all-rounder Krunal Pandya to hide the inconsistencies shown by Pant and Rahul while batting.
KL Rahul has not been able to make most for Team India. He averages an inadequate 13.50 while his strike rate is also under 100. In the third T20I, he struggled to score 14 runs in 20 balls before getting out to Glenn Maxwell.
While Rishabh Pant also disappointed Team India after he went for a golden duck in the must-win tie at Sydney. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper to get out for a golden duck in Twenty20 Internationals.
Pant was picked ahead of former Captain MS Dhoni for the tour but he did not have good T20I series. He was also for 20 off 15 balls in the 1st T20I at Brisbane that India lost by 4 runs after revised D/L target for Team India was raised to 174 in 17 overs.
